The story so far
In 2009 I took a basic computer course. There was no one around me teaching design, so I learned graphic design from CDs and whatever I could find on the internet. My first job was as a designer at a printing press in Barishal.
In 2010 I joined an IT firm that did work for overseas clients on oDesk. I started by posting ads on Craigslist and ended up as assistant to the CEO. That job showed me that a person in Bangladesh could earn from clients anywhere in the world.
Around 2011 I opened my own oDesk account. The first job came after two or three months. I taught myself SEO from tutorials, and for the next few years I freelanced in the evenings while holding office jobs during the day. I started publishing on AdSense in 2012 and became an Amazon affiliate in 2013.
In 2015 I received the BASIS Outsourcing Award for Patuakhali district. The next year I became a trainer for the ICT Division's Learning and Earning Development Project, teaching new freelancers the work that had changed my life.
After marketing manager roles at digital agencies in 2018 and 2019, I went back to building my own things. In 2022 I formed Affixup LLC in Delaware so my businesses could run through one US company with proper contracts, banking and policies.
Not everything worked. Webcore IT, TechTeam and Pro Clipping are closed. What I learned from them shapes how I run Affixup today.
